Etan Bloom received his Ph.D. from the Tel Aviv University School of Cultural Studies. He was a doctoral student at the Simon-Dubnow-Institute for Jewish History and Culture at Leipzig University. His Master’s Dissertation is titled “The Reproduction of the Model ‘Oriental’ in the Israeli Social Space; the 50s and the speedy immigration.” Since 2008 Bloom has been the director of the Hypercities; a digital research and educational platform for exploring and interacting with the layered histories of city and global spaces.
